Chukudu
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, one of the most popular means of transporting goods is the “chukudu”. It is a rudimentary two-wheeled vehicle made of wood. In an area where most people live on less than $2 a day, this muscular scooter provides a chance for work and survival. After unloading the precious cargo, a young man strides tiredly along. On his face, the awareness of a very hard existence with no possibility of redemption.
